Marketing & Communications Manager

We seek a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our ever-growing team to help grow and nurture our audiences. If you’re up for something different, working within the disability space, this job might just be the one for you!

The Role

You will work as part of our small but dynamic team, helping to continue to grow our network of volunteer branches and support more people living with a disability know about our services. You will provide communication support to all aspects of the charity’s work. We currently have over 800 volunteers across a network of 68 branches.

About us

REMAP is a unique national charity founded in 1964, which brings together two sets of people: volunteers skilled at making things and people with a disability that a piece of specialist equipment could ease.  The result each year is nearly 3,000 pieces of custom-made equipment that help transform the lives of disabled people.

REMAP’S army of ingenious inventors design and make equipment for young and old alike, which are then provided free of charge.  The aim is always to help people achieve independence and quality of life, filling the gap where no suitable equipment is available commercially.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have demonstrable experience in a similar position and be comfortable working with a diverse range of volunteers/people.  A self-starter, you can work at pace and quickly assess and deliver to changing priorities in a busy remote team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, coordinate multiple tasks/activities, and have the flexibility to respond to changing demands.

This is an opportunity for someone to grow into the role; we ask that you have demonstratable experience in marketing and charity communications.

Key Skills and Experience

● Proven experience in developing and executing end-to-end marketing campaigns both internally & externally.

● Demonstrable expertise in delivering effective social media campaigns (SEO & PPC)

● Experience in Google Analytics and/or other analytics tools

● Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and techniques.

● Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

● Highly skilled at developing and publishing content across all major social media platforms.    I

● Understanding of how to drive engagement and growth across all major social media platforms

● High attention to detail (design and copy)

● Eye for current trends and news within the disability sector

● Experience in proofreading online copy and social media content

● Ability to stick to deadlines and quick turnarounds.

Key responsibilities:

● Strategy – reporting to the CEO, you’ll have complete ownership over our communications strategy and be responsible for delivering multi-platform campaigns that drive brand reputation and follower growth amongst the disabled community.

● Story Telling – you’ll be responsible for identifying, framing, and bringing to life user stories that illustrate our mission, vision, and why and serve to remind the disabled community that we’re here to serve and represent them.

● Content – overseeing and preparing, writing, and editing internal and external materials, including but not limited to social media content (imagery, videography), the REMAP newsletter (internal and external), press releases, and other assorted company-related content.

● Monitoring & Analytics – monitoring and measuring the performance of campaigns and initiatives to continually improve our communications’ engagement, reach and impact and grant reporting.

● Event Promotion – you’ll support the CEO to plan and promote our in-person events.

● Networking – you’ll lead outreach to third parties for communications collaborations across TV, radio, newspaper and other media
