What will I be doing?
Use your skills and experience in healthcare to support a charity which is vital in helping people with disabilities to live fuller and more independent lives.
You will do this by providing advice to our team of ingenious volunteers, who design and custom-make pieces of equipment for disabled people. You will also help assess the needs of those people who self-refer to us when no existing product is commercially available. You will be joining a local group of equipment makers and volunteers who all want to improve the lives of disabled people.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for practising occupational therapists or similar health professionals. You will be committed to finding creative, practical solutions to enable people with disabilities to achieve a better quality of life.
You will have a knowledge of existing commercially available equipment, as the charity only makes bespoke equipment that is not currently available.
You will need to work independently from home, to keep in touch with key members of the local group and/or attend group meetings. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.
