Find out more.

How do I get help for my clients?

Simply complete our online referral form. If you want to find the details to contact your local REMAP branch, use our branch locator map.   Otherwise, you can contact our Central Office Team for more information.

Is their any charge for accessing our service?

No, our service is free of charge to the client.

However, donations are always welcome and we couldn’t continue without them.

What happens if commercially available equipment can meet someone’s needs?

We only make someone a piece of equipment if their needs cannot be met by existing sources.

We can adapt a commercially owned item when the client is happy to let us do this; we will discuss warranty, etc, prior to doing any work. Items on loan from NHS services require separate authorisation.

What if a piece of equipment made by Remap goes wrong and someone gets hurt?

All work carried out by REMAP’s volunteers is covered by Public and Product Liability insurance to protect the charity and its volunteers in the event of damage to a third party or their property, as long as it has been used according to any instructions provided.

Are Remap’s volunteers vetted in some way?

We ensure that our volunteers are properly assessed and vetted before they undertake any work for REMAP. A formal Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is required of our volunteers who visit clients. For work in Scotland, a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) for adults and children check would be required.

WIll REMAP seek medical Advice on the clients needs?

If a case has been referred to REMAP by a Healthcare Professional, we will seek that person’s advice on the medical aspects of the equipment design. In cases referred by others, or self-referred, we may seek independent advice of a medical professional as necessary. Many of our local branches have a practicing Occupational Therapist working with them on a voluntary basis to provide professional advice.

How can OT’s/Health professionals/individuals be sure that our online referral form is safe?

The system we use for referrals – ‘Salesforce’ is end-to-end encrypted. It is the world’s no.1 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and utilises some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. When you access our referral system using a supported web browser, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your information, using both server authentication and data encryption.
