Activity Board
An activity board was required for a special needs class of 5-7 year old children, consisting of a wall mounted panel with simple everyday activities fixed to it allowing the children to interact with them. The items are to be from ‘real life’ not toys, making ‘off the shelf’ activity boards unsuitable.
The solution
A range of items were fixed to a painted MDF board. Many of the items were second hand or from a car boot sale (eg computer keyboard, clock, door handles). The board was fixed under a window at an appropriate height for the children,
The benefit
The activity board, which was requested by the teachers, worked as required, giving all the children an opportunity to interact with everyday items.
