Ambiturn belt extension kit
We were contacted by an OT who was having difficulty securing the belt around a client who was using an Ambiturn sit-to-stand aid. A larger belt wasn’t obtainable.
The solution
After some research, we were able to identify the precise belt buckle design used for the product – so it was straightforward to make a short extension using the same buckles and car seat belt webbing as the standard Ambiturn belt.
For the section of the belt around the torso, we took sections of wide Velcro hook and loop, and sewed these back-to-back to make an extender, and provided a cotton sleeve to stop any exposed sections of Velcro hook from catching on the client’s clothing.
The benefit
The extension kit provided the extra few inches of belt necessary.
