The client is unable to sit for any period of time without resting her upper body on her arms. A support tray or table was required for a particular type of chair, chosen by the client.

The solution

The client chose a wooden dining chair to suit her posture. A mock-up table was constructed to get the exact configuration and then a table and frame was constructed from steel tubing and angle. The table uprights were able to slide into the main chair support frame and could be adjusted in height to suit and lifted off to allow entry and exit and easier transport. All joints were welded. The table top was plywood, suitably painted.

The benefit

Enabled client to be comfortable sitting at home. The chair could also be transported for outings.
