Boccia measuring device

In his role as referee at his local Boccia club, Peter is required to determine the differential measurement between contentious balls in play but from his wheelchair he has found this difficult and must summon a helper to undertake any measuring required. Peter has Becker muscular dystrophy.

A DIY laser rangefinder was attached to the top of a column by a tilting clevis and the column was aligned and positioned by two intersecting lasers. The differential distances were established by comparing the hypotenuse measurements of the two balls in contention and the jack ball.

Peter can now measure the distance between balls and stop arguments.
