The client is concerned that she will release her baby’s buggy during an epileptic seizure and requires a means to restrain it.

The solution

Buggies are often provided to wrist straps to restrain them in case of accidental release, but this would tip the buggy over in the event of an epileptic seizure.

A strong retractable key chain was fixed to the rear axle of the buggy at one end and attached to the client with wrist strap at the other.

A deadman’s brake like this one was also considered, but this would require constant grip on the brake lever.

The benefit

The tether will restain the buggy in the event of an accident, while allowing the user freedom to perform other activities.
