Car access device

The young client cannot climb into his parent’s people carrier and is now too large for his mother to lift him into it. A powered lift is needed, which must be low to the ground in the bottom position, must be stable when raised and must be small and light enough to be easily stowed in the vehicle.

A moving platform lifting from about 50 to 525mm was produced. It is driven by a threaded rod rotated by a battery powered electric drill. The problem of lifting the client into the people carrier has been overcome.
