Child's trike steering adaptationA young client was very keen to cycle but was unable to steer his trike as he is missing his left hand.

The solution (which the engineer has patented) was to remove the handlebars and replace them with a small wheel which has a knob on the top, like an old fashioned steam roller, enabling it to be steered with one hand. However to reduce the strain, the engineer enabled a 9:1 gear reduction by placing the mechanism of an electric screwdriver inside the pillar and connecting it to the steering wheel.

The young client has mastered the trike and is now fully able to participate in nursery activities.
