Collapsible shower chair
This client is a wheelchair user with multiple sclerosis. The chair was requested to enable her to travel with her husband on short breaks without having to use two cars to transport her wheel and shower chairs.
Her shower chair was split into two sections which could then be rejoined by using two cross members located into sockets welded to the chair frame. Rigidity was provided by the seat when locked into place.
The chair can now either be separated completely or simply folded flat permitting easy transportation.

Hi. We’re looking for exactly this kind of adaptation to what looks like the same model of shower chair, and for the same reason: Wendy has multiple sclerosis, and we’d love to get away, as she’s been confined to bed for nearly two years because of a deep sacral pressure wound following a 2-month stay in hospital with sepsis. We’re based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The wheelchair is the property of the NRS, so we may need to source one? Very grateful for any help. David & Wendy Lennon, 07880 505980
Hi David, if you please complete our referral form with a bit more information, then we can see if we’re able to help Wendy with something similar: http://www.remap.org.uk/help
