Conversion of electric screwdriver

Customer’s problem was holding a screw. He has no thumbs to grip anything, and fingers cannot strike. Despite losing the use of his thumbs, he still wants to be able to do some DIY activities..  He wanted something that would attach to his electric screwdriver to hold a range of screws.

The solution

The solution was a tube , the screwdriver bit fitted through which was pushed through a hole into a piece of thick rubber tube. The opposite side to the screwdriver bit  was a slot in the rubber, this held the screw.

The benefit

After the screw had gone into the wood a few turns, the tube was slipped off the screw and the screwdriver bit removed.
