Crutch support for armchairThe client is a middle-aged lady with severe rheumatism who needs elbow crutches for movement around the house. If her crutches fell to the floor, she could not retrieve them without assistance.

A crutch holder was made, which comprises a column with a cross piece to which are attached two terry clips. The column is fixed to a floor plate which has sockets to accept the crutch ferrules. For stability the floor plate is extended beneath the chair legs so that the weight of the chair holds the crutch holder firmly in place. The client can retrieve her crutches without assistance.
