Help for children with dwarfism
Young girl with dwarfism was just starting school and required a way to reach the school wash basins and toilets
The solution
Special steps were made with hand rails so that the girl could use the school facilities safely, also so she could sit with her new friends in the playground she asked for a special bench she and her friend could use.
The benefit
Similar equipment was made for the young girl to use at home so that she could safely become more independent. The girl’s parents were so impressed with the help from Remap that they organised raffles, donations, indoor horse racing and sponsored wearing of clothes at school and generated over £1,200 to Remap funds. Remap Essex Central have done a number of similar adaptions for both children and adults with dwarfism
