Holding jigs for hose assembly

Holding jigs for hose assemblyCavan has symptoms akin to cerebral palsy so had problems positioning items for assembly in his job as a braided hose assembler. After the outer rubber sheath was cut away revealing the steel braiding beneath it, the braiding tended to spring away from the inner rubber hose making the end fitting difficult to assemble.

Hinged jigs were made for three different sized hose ends. The hinged clamp would be put in position over the end of the hose and pulled along to smooth the braiding down so that the hose end fitting could be slid into position.

Cavan can now carry out his work much more easily.
