Kanjo Eco bath lift safety belt
A safety lap belt for a Kanjo Eco bath lift, used by a client with severe involuntary movement, to assist her carers when bathing her.
The Challenge
Our client is a lady with severe involuntary movements which make if difficult for her carers to bath her safely. She was able to transfer onto a Kanjo Eco bath lift with help but it was felt that a form of lap belt similar the one the client uses in her wheelchair would be helpful to stop her slipping off the front of the seat. No such belt is available for this type of bath chair so her OT approached Remap for help.
The solution
Harrogate and Ripon Group engineer Ian Midgley fabricated a wide, comfortable and strong belt from lifting sling material, which secures around the back of the bath chair and around the front of the client.
The benefit
The risk is much reduced.

I would like a belt like this for a patient. How do I go about getting one ?
Hi Rachelle, if you complete our referral form with the patient’s details, then we can see if we can create something similar for them: http://www.remap.org.uk/help
