Swimming aid
Adam is blind and has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus. However, he loves swimming, but he needs a flotation device which will keep him upright and stable and which can be adjusted as he grows.
The device shown in the photograph was made using polystyrene for the floats, connected by neoprene tape, clamped to the floats by aluminium plates. The girth is adjustable and is secured by Velcro tapes.
Adam now enjoys swimming even more.

Hiya I ve been diagnosed with MND a year ago..
I have been a swimmer all my life. Unfortunately my left arm is just a burden I can’t stretch it or lift it which unbalance my body and makes it tricky ( impossible) to swim.
Would you be able to custom build an arm splint/float
Hi Bryan, thank you for your comment. If you please complete our referral form with a bit more information, then we can see if we’re able to help: http://www.remap.org.uk/help
Good day,,
Looking for a swimming device to protect my mom while swimming. She had a stroke and her left hand is immobile. Would like to put her in our pool for exercise.
Hi! We’re a UK-based charity that provides custom-made adaptations free of charge, if you’re based in the UK – please submit an online referral at https://remap.org.uk/referral-form/ and someone will be in touch!
