Toilet seat adaptationThe client required a back and lumbar support for the toilet seat. A commercial back unit had been purchased but did not fit the client’s requirements and had no side support. The panel had to make new attachments to allow the support to be adjustable on the bowl and make a side pad that could swivel clear to allow the client access.

A new base plate with brass pillars with forward adjustment was made to suit and a side pad with a hinged joint was attached. The whole job was designed and constructed on the mainland (thanks to broadband! ) without sight of location and installed by the local member.

The client can sit on the toilet without carer support.
