Trampoline Transfer Device

A 23-year-old client of small stature with Autism and profound mental health problems requires 24-hour care and lives in a residential home. He uses a trampoline for recreational purposes but was having difficulty getting on and off it even with assistance, though the client can self-transfer and is able to crawl and shuffle.

The solution

A transfer device was designed in the form of a ramp that would gain the client easier access to the trampoline. The ramp had to be hinged due to the trampoline being moved occasionally and the ground may not be level. The two ‘skis’ keep the device stable and prevent it moving whilst the client is using it.

The benefit

The transfer device give the client some autonomy in getting on and off the trampoline with minimal help from carers.
