VitrA Shower Control Adaptation
A 3D printed lock-on handle to assist a gentleman with reduced hand function to operate one of the controls on his VitrA shower mixer.
The Challenge
The top control of this shower is much smaller than the other, and offers less leverage and grip.
The solution
Harrogate and Ripon Group engineer Mike Johnson re-used an earlier shower control adaptation design of his for another Remap client, to create a 3D printed ABS lever which secures around a small protrusion that marks the control position for the user. An ellipsoid locking ring is rotated to secure the lever in place. Spares were also supplied.
The benefit
It was far easier and more comfortable for our client to grip and use the lever.
