Washing Machine Door Handle Aid
An elderly but independent lady lived alone and had arthritis in her hands. She could not open her washing machine door by herself and relied upon her neighbour visiting her twice a week to open the door for her.
The solution
An extension to the original small pull latch handle was made and fitted, that through increased leverage enabled the lady to open the door with ease.
The benefit
Two people benefitted by this adaption. The lady with Arthritis is now able to do her washing alone and without assistance. This allows greater independence as well as privacy of washing personal clothes. The kind neighbour no longer has to be involved with opening the washing machine door twice a week.
