Wheelchair shooting table
To design an easily dis-mountable table to fit to a wheelchair which meets the Para-Olympic shooting regulations for both prone and standing events. It must be adjustable in several planes. The client’s carer must be able to mount, dismount and adjust without difficulty and be as rigid as possible.
A table was designed using a frame of rectangular hollow steel sections with a plywood top with a removable section. Special mounting brackets to suit the Permobil F5 Corpus wheelchair side rails were manufactured which allowed the table to be slid in from the top and adjusted vertically. The section of table which supported the client’s elbows was removable via quick-release Dzus fasteners, An adjustable mount was designed for the rifle support yoke.
The design met the World Shooting Para Sport regulations in terms of table size, shape and position.
To allow the client to compete in the sport and potentially represent the UK with the best equipment possible.
