Wheelchair table
A wheelchair table was needed for sensory toys as our client is profoundly disabled and suffers from dementia. The table will also be useful for care home staff when caring for her.
The solution
Engineers Norman Williams and Ian Midgley made a tray from MDF and wood. A layer of Dycem non slip material was added to keep things in position, and can be peeled off and wiped clean. The sort of edge protector foam used on glass topped tables curves around the client for comfort and velcros on/off for clearing.
The benefit
Commercial wheelchair trays rarely fit properly and securely, and this table met the requirements for our client in full.
