Award for Remap Essex from the Provide Foundation
The Remap groups in Essex received a welcome funding boost in March from the Provide Foundation, an ambitious and innovative grants programme managed by Essex Community Foundation. The fund helps people in mid Essex to have better access to community health services by supporting voluntary and community organisations. Remap Essex helped 309 local people in the relevant area during 2016, providing innovative and bespoke equipment to help people who were medically fit to get out of hospital and back into their own homes.
Receiving the cheque, Peter Livingstone, chair of Essex Central Remap, said: “Restoring independence and enabling anyone, regardless of their disabilities, to live their life to the fullest is at the heart of what we do. We are thrilled to receive this award from the Provide Foundation. This funding will be used to support more people to leave hospital, with the equipment they need, and get back into the comfort of their own homes”.
