Ball-throwing device
Lorna has three different jobs and owes a great deal to her partner Eli the dog, on whom she relies for a huge variety of tasks. Lorna has cerebral palsy, so uses a wheelchair to get around, but was unable to throw a ball for Eli.
She turned to Remap South Hertfordshire for help and volunteer Brian Bloomfield constructed a ball-hurling mechanism to attach to Lorna’s chair.
Now, when she takes Eli into the nearby park, Lorna can entertain him in a way he loves. ‘Brian is an absolute gem,’ says Lorna. ‘It’s wonderful to be able to give Eli a reward he enjoys so much.’
