Remote control for wheelchair

Sue uses an electrically powered wheelchair as she has multiple sclerosis. She also drives an adapted car, but once she has transferred to the car, the wheelchair is left marooned on the pavement.

Richard Brown, a volunteer from Remap Basingstoke has made the wheelchair remote controlled so now Sue can operate the wheelchair controls from the driving seat of her car.

Sue says, ‘I always hoped there could be such a device, but Remap has made it a reality. I am now free, independent and totally amazed!’
