A Wedding Gift That Makes Things Possible
Emma and Abhi chose to make their wedding day even more meaningful by asking their guests to support REMAP instead of giving traditional wedding gifts.
The couple’s generous idea was inspired by Emma’s uncle Martin, who has volunteered with REMAP for many years and has helped the couple understand the difference our work can make to people’s lives.
Martin is a valued member of REMAP’s Leicestershire and Rutland branch, where he works as an engineer and serves as treasurer. He said:
“My visits to Emma and Abhi are always enjoyable because I can help with their DIY and go for long walks with them and their dogs in the South Downs. They often ask me about my current REMAP projects and realise what a difference we make to the quality of life of our clients.”
Emma explains why she and Abhi chose to support REMAP on their special day:
“Instead of a wedding gift list, we invited our guests to donate to REMAP.
My uncle has volunteered with the charity for many years, and through his stories we’ve seen firsthand the meaningful impact their work has on people’s lives. Supporting a cause we know makes a real difference felt like a wonderful way to mark our wedding, and we’re so grateful to our guests for their generous donations.”
We’re incredibly grateful to Emma, Abhi and their guests for choosing to support REMAP as part of their wedding celebrations. Their generous donations will help us continue creating bespoke solutions that make a real difference to disabled people’s lives.
