At REMAP, our mission is to empower disabled people to live more independently. Our dedicated team of volunteers creates custom-made equipment and adaptations, tailored to your needs, free of charge. Through the Moving Forward Campaign, we aim to provide 2000 wheelchair users with life-changing custom solutions over the next three years.
REMAP are thrilled to announce we’ve been awarded £230,000 from charitable organisation Motability. This generous funding comes from Motability’s new portfolio of grant programmes established to aid other charities that support the transport needs of disabled people. The grant will be allocated towards REMAP’s new initiative, the Moving Forward Campaign.
The Moving Forward Campaign will address the unique needs of wheelchair users. REMAP’s dedicated volunteers, including skilled engineers, technicians, and designers, will work closely with individuals to create tailor-made solutions to improve accessibility, independence, and quality of life.
The programme will offer invaluable assistance for wheelchair users, covering modifications to aid independent transportation. It supports adaptions around the home such as ramps, aimed at giving you the freedom to get out and about, providing no commercial solutions are available.
“Without Remap’s help, I could not have anticipated the increased comfort of using this new wheelchair for my travels. They are a fantastic charity with work done by hundreds of volunteers across the UK using many different skills.”
