David Reid Awarded MBE
We are thrilled to announce that David Reid, a long-standing volunteer with REMAP Scotland, has been awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the King’s New Year Honours List 2026 for his exceptional services to disabled people.
David has been an integral part of REMAP since the late 1990s, eventually becoming the Regional Coordinator for Scotland. Since then, he has made a profound impact on the people we support, as well as the many volunteers he has mentored and encouraged throughout his journey with us. This prestigious recognition is a testament to David’s remarkable dedication and tireless commitment to improving the lives of our clients.
David’s reaction to the honour reflects his humble and collaborative spirit. He said:
“REMAP and REMAP Scotland have succeeded because of the dedicated work of countless talented volunteers over the decades. I’ve just been in the privileged position of trying to control some of them and occasionally succeeding!”
We would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to David on this well-deserved recognition.
Thank you, David, for your years of hard work and for making such a positive difference in the lives of so many. We are proud to work alongside you and look forward to the continued success of REMAP and REMAP Scotland, thanks to the outstanding contributions of volunteers like you.
