Great North Run team raises almost £3,000 for REMAP

A huge congratulations and thank you to Danny, Mark, Chloe, Phoebe and Tricia, who all completed the Great North Run for REMAP!

Together, the team has raised an incredible £2,761 so far – enough to fund more than 20 of REMAP’s personalised solutions, based on our average cost of £127 per solution.

Danny, a REMAP volunteer who has run the Great North Run for us before, was joined in the challenge by his dad, Mark, who also volunteers for REMAP. Meanwhile, Chloe, Phoebe and Phoebe’s mum, Tricia, took on the Great North Run for the first time.

This isn’t the first extraordinary thing Tricia has done this year. In April, she donated a kidney to a friend and, after six weeks of recovery from major surgery, managed to get back to training for the Great North Run!

Every pound raised will help REMAP create bespoke solutions that enable disabled people to do what matters most to them – whether that’s getting out of a chair, caring for a child, opening a window, riding a bicycle or playing an instrument.

These solutions can make a huge difference to independence, confidence, dignity and participation.

We’re also thrilled that Danny is already planning his biggest challenge for REMAP yet: the London Marathon 2027. If you’d like to support him, you can donate here.

Thank you to all five runners and everyone who sponsored them. Your support is helping REMAP make a real difference to disabled people’s lives.

If you’d like to be considered for one of our places in the great North Run 2027, please register your interest here.
