Helping Israel to get in and out of bed independently
Israel lives with a condition called Tetraphocomelia, which means all four of her limbs have not fully formed. Currently, her way of travelling around the house, is to shuffle on her bottom. Due to her condition, she has difficulty transferring in and out of bed and relies on parental support for assistance. Israel has since, strived for independence and being able to get herself in and out of bed on her own. Therefore, the family sought help from their local Remap Group.
It wasn’t long before Martin, a Volunteer Engineer/Maker, was able to assist and created a ramp for Israel to use, to get herself in and out of bed independently.
Just look at how happy she is to be doing it herself!
