Kirah’s wheelchair adaptation

Kirah decided to volunteer with Remap to make a positive change for others in their lives. Having lived experience of disability herself, she has helped to deliver Remap’s mission in providing publicity and fundraising support, which involves raising awareness of Remap at events and workshops.

Not only does Kirah volunteer for Remap, but she also sought support from Engineer, Mike Johnson, from the Harrogate and Ripon panel. Kirah had to rely on others to move her walking sticks, which were attached to the back of her wheelchair and found it difficult to remove these herself. Mike created a carrier for Kirah’s tripod-base walking sticks so that she can remove them independently, without assistance.
