Meet Fiona — Part of Our 2026 London Marathon Team

Fiona Egan will be one of the amazing members of Team REMAP taking on the 2026 London Marathon. She shares how she got into running and why she’s passionate about supporting us.

I am Fiona Egan, a 40-year-old mum of two living in the Scottish Borders. I am what you would call a beginner in terms of running, having only really started in 2022 with a ‘Couch to 5k’ group and caught the bug from there. Until now I have run a few half marathons, but never a full marathon. I can’t imagine my legs ever carrying me 26 miles but here we are, committing to giving it a go!

Outside of bringing up my little family and running, I work as an Occupational Therapist (OT) and run my own independent Occupational Therapy business, mostly working with adults with brain injuries and other complex conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and long covid.

With 20 years of serving my communities as an OT in the NHS and private sector, I know first-hand the benefits that REMAP can bring to my clients. I don’t often find what I need for my clients “off the shelf” and these skilled volunteers are vital in creating bespoke and life changing adaptions.

I am proud to be raising money for them through my donation page and other events in the upcoming months. My wider plans are to host a race night and to use my connections in the industry to raise awareness and as much money as I can for REMAP!

A huge thank you to Fiona for taking on this incredible challenge for us. We’ll be cheering her on every step of the way as she continues her training and fundraising journey!
