Supporting Hazel Across A Decade
Hazel, who is a wheelchair user due to post-polio, explains how REMAP has assisted her twice in the last ten years.
“REMAP made a wonderful movable arm for the joystick controller of my foldable wheelchair that enables me to position the controller centrally, rather than at the end of a sidearm. I couldn’t use the joystick controller in the usual position as I can’t stretch my arms to reach the end of the chair arm and can’t move my right hand and arm independently.
I couldn’t find anything suitable to buy, and without this adaptation I wouldn’t be able to use my chair. I have nothing but praise for this amazing charity.

The first wonderful thing REMAP made for me was a piece of cutlery specifically to fit my fingers, as there was no readymade solution that worked for me. This was about 10 years ago and it won an award! It was truly life changing for me and still works well for me today.
I spread the word about REMAP whenever I can as it is such a fantastic organisation!”
Hazel has been making the most of her new wheelchair adaptation on days out to Stowe, Blenheim and Henley.
