Wink Mouse

A Lady with advanced MND who was using a Toe-Operated Mouse function, via her i-Pad, was unable to continue due to losing control of her toe muscles. Her Husband was looking for a Mouse-Input sensor for mounting to her Spectacles (similar to that used by Professor Stephen Hawking).

System Built: A miniature proximity sensor was integrated with her spectacle frame and connected to a rechargeable battery-powered control unit vie a very light ribbon cable. The sensor was adjusted to detect cheek movement when she winked her eye. Each wink controlled an isolated contact closure from the control module.

Note: this system could be modified use various forms of detection input such as air blowing on a microphone, sound clicking/ tapping, hand waving etc.
