Cooker Hob Guard Modification
The client is a power wheelchair user in her home. She had experienced an accident while trying to remove a pan from her cooker hob.
The gas taps for the hob were at the front of the hob, in the centre so available hob guards were unsuitable.
The solution
Cooker hob guard consisting of a stainless steel grid purchased and modified by creating a gap in the centre so the gas taps can be accessed.
The benefit
The Occupational therapist said: “I have received feedback from client that Cooker Guard is brilliant. She asked me to pass on her thanks. She is very happy with what you have invented, she has been able to use the guard already And happy that it has optimised her independence.”
