Gas fire control adaptationThis elderly lady found it difficult to bend over to operate the ground level gas fire control knob, putting her at great risk of falling.

A simple hand held tool, reaching from hand to control knob was made.

The lady can now adjust her gas fire setting with complete confidence, whereas before she had to choose between risking a dangerous fall and not switching the fire on or off as needed.

Hi, I’ve been searching for something like this for ages, great idea. My 81 yo Mother in law struggles to operate her gas fire control knob which is located underneath the bottom of her fire. It’s partly a weak grip and having to reach under the fire, placing her head one slip away from falling in the grate! I wonder if you could make something like this to help? Let me know how much you charge please or I’d be happy to donate to this worthy charity.

    Many thanks

    Rob

Hi Rob, thank you for your comment. All of our equipment is custom made free of charge. If you complete our referral form with a bit more information, then we can see if we’re able to help your Mother in law with something similar: http://www.remap.org.uk/help

My dad is struggling to get his fire on
It’s a cast iron amber glow
Would you be able to do one for him

I really need one of these. How can I get one please? And how much will it cost?
I have piezo switch at the base of my living-flame gas fire and I can no longer manage the switch.
    Thank you.
