Shower seat
The client had suffered a stroke and was unable to use his arm or leg on the left side of his body. His wife was unable to get him into the shower as it was too narrow for a shower chair to be manoeuvred so the client’s Occupational Therapist contacted us to ask for help.
I made a sliding shower seat from wooden slats supported by two old shower stools and added a sliding seat on inset casters. This enabled the client to be assisted onto the seat outside of the shower and then gently slid into the shower area.
The solution
The solution for this request was a wooden platform with a sliding seat.
The benefit
The client is now able to access the shower with support.
