Stand Transfer Aid Foot Strap
An Occupational Therapist asked REMAP Suffolk East to provide something to stop a client’s feet sliding forwards on the foot plate of a Sara Stedy stand/transfer aid.
The Challenge
As the Sara Stedy was provided by Medequip community equipment services, anything added had to be very easy to remove.
The solution
A strap with foam padding was made to go across the Sara Stedy. The strap clip and buckle allow the strap to be adjusted so it is taut.
Our client’s feet can pass under the strap so there is no pressure on their toes.
The benefit
Our client can now transfer between sitting and standing without risk of their feet slipping forwards off the foot plate of the Sara Stedy.

Hi, This is suitable for me. I use to use a Sara Stedy. Now with the added progression of my condition; I now use a Mini lift 180 which is electrically charged to lift me using a hoist strapped round my middle & attached onto the lift? My legs & feet are placed on the foot plate. My OT source a Black strap fitted on the lift to retain my feet from sliding backwards! My feet can suddenly spasm & force themselves Banff the footplate. This Black bet would be sufficient also for me! If there is one available. I would be most grateful.
Hi Iona, all of our equipment is custom made free of charge. If you complete our referral form with a bit more information, then we can see if we’re able to design something similar for you: http://www.remap.org.uk/help
