Engineer / Maker - REMAP - Custom made equipment for disabled people

Engineer / Maker

Do you want to help change the lives of disabled people in your local area? Are you looking to give back to the community and want to make a real difference to where you live? Volunteering with REMAP could be for you!

REMAP is the UK’s only charity providing custom-made equipment, free of charge for disabled people. Every year we help an average of around 3,000 people experiencing disability. We achieve this through our network of over 60 branches, run by our 800 strong volunteer team.

Our Peterborough & District branch is currently looking to recruit new Engineer / Maker volunteers. This role is at the heart of what we do as an organisation. It involves:

  • Designing and making pieces of equipment for individuals with specific needs
  • Using your practical skills working with metal, wood, plastic, or electronics
  • Attending a monthly meeting of the local branch

You will need practical experience in working with one of the above materials and access to tools, equipment and workspace.
