Bed lever/rail extension
To construct a bed lever extension piece with sufficient rigidity to allow the client to more easily get in and out of her bed.
The solution
The client has a profiling bed because of spine issues. The tallest bed lever/rail available has been fitted by the NHS. This is still not high enough. A 100mm extension frame was made with 26 mm o/d steel tube, fully welded, to locate on and clip to the existing rail. Because of the overall height, additional stiffening was required by means of a pair of brackets clamped to the lower bed structure..
The benefit
To help the client get in and out of her bed more easily
