Bespoke bottle/cup holder for electric wheelchair
Our client, Jenny, needed a bottle/cup holder for her electric wheelchair, so she would always have a drink available. Her family have searched for a holder but most are flimsy and widen the chair, which is impractical.
The Challenge
Jenny wanted to be able to access her cup/bottle easily to maintain her independence.
The solution
Gerry, our REMAP volunteer, used his 40 years of experience in electronics, metalworking and engineering to design and make an aluminium holder covered in soft tape to prevent scratching. It fitted onto the wheelchair perfectly and was fit for purpose.
The benefit
Jenny is delighted with her bespoke cup/bottle holder. She wrote:
