Our client has arthritis in her hands and was finding her dishwasher difficult and sometimes painful to open. She needed a solution which would allow her to use the dishwasher independently and with comfort and ease.

The solution

This lightweight device is inserted into the finger recess of the handle (see below) and provides significant additional leverage to release it in a lifting and pulling motion. A padded handle was constructed by wrapping foam around wooden dowel and covering with heat shrink sleeve.

The benefit

Opening the dishwasher is now simple and painless with this handy gadget.
