Foot Securing Plates For Bike Pedals
Developed new, stronger and adjustable footplates designed to attach the user’s foot to the pedal system securely. The design incorporated corrugated slots for added structural strength and utilised recycled rolled aluminium folded sheets to create durable components. Additional features included a new strap slot, a custom plate, coupler and fasteners to enhance stability and safety during use.
The Challenge
Existing footplates lacked sufficient strength and adjustability, compromising user safety and comfort during physical activity.
The solution
Designed and fabricated reinforced footplates with improved structural integrity and adjustability, ensuring secure foot placement. Used sustainable materials by repurposing recycled aluminium sheets, integrating corrugated slots for added strength, along with custom fasteners and straps for a secure fit.
