Improved shower knob grip

The six scollops of the client’s shower control valve knob were too shallow for our client to grip and turn as she has arthritis in her hands.

Shower thermostat grip -1m

The solution

The solution was to make a plastic ring from standard rain water down-pipe joining socket to fit over the knob, and six upright lugs to turn the knob were made from an ‘Aquaflow’ square down-pipe clip; the whole assembly was glued together with a plastic bonding solvent. Three self-tapping screws were used to fix the ring assembly to the shower control knob.

The benefit

The client can now control her shower.

Do you make this application also in chrome and how much would it cost – our plumber recommended this – we have a Aqualisa at the momoment and that is very slippery with wet hands
