Key turner
Our client has Osteoarthritis and was struggling to find a key turner to help her unlock the door of her Victorian home. Commercial key turners were found to be unsuitable for this particular requirement.
The solution
Engineer Mike Johnson fabricated a key turner from a mix of aluminium section and 3D printed components. A local branch of Timpson donated a key blank of the identical shape/profile to allow Mike to develop and test the design.
The benefit
As requested by the client, the key can be left on its keyring and stored in a pocket, and the turner stored separately in a bag. The long handled solution copes well with the deep door frames often found on period properties.
