Sock aid for prosthetic limb
The client needed a device to help him put on the special neoprene sock onto his leg to which the prosthetic limb is attached as he had difficulty reaching down.
The solution
The solution was to construct a wooden box frame, open for access on 2 opposite sides, with hand holds at the top and 2 curved scoops at the bottom onto which the neoprene sock could be slid. The sock can then be placed onto the leg in the right position without reaching down and then the device pushed back leaving the sock in place.
The benefit
The client no longer needs help to put his sock on.
