Strolli along
Marie has two daughters. Her five year old daughter uses a wheelchair. Her other daughter is one year old. She was having great difficulty taking them out at the same time and wondered if there was some way of seating the one year old on the wheelchair.
A Swiss Strolli Rider was purchased to fit onto the wheelchair and the seat was changed for a toddler cycle saddle with back support and strap. A strapped footrest was added to give more stability for the toddler. A linkage bar was fabricated to provide a vertical clamping position for the Strolli.
Quick release clamps were fitted to each end of this bar for easy removal when the wheelchair was to be folded down or used on its own. This arrangement is within the width of the wheelchair. The toddler sits in line with the mother. The space required and manoeuverability is equivalent to that of the mother pushing the wheelchair without the attachment.
Marie is now able to take both her daughters out at the same time.
