The client uses his garden trampoline for exercise but struggles to mount the rather basic ladder. A set of steps were made to provide easy access, and a slide offers an alternative way to leave.

The Challenge

The client has a rare neurological condition causing sudden (paroxysmal) jerks, twitches, tremors, muscle tensing (dystonia), or writhing (choreiform) movements.  Trampolining is a beneficicial activity, but he is unable to climb into the trampoline using the simple ladder provided.

The solution

A second-hand garden play set was obtained and modified to create a set of steps to provide easy access, and a slide offers an alternative way to leave.

The benefit

The client can now get his much-needed exercise without assistance.

His mother’s reaction: “Ian was incredible throughout the process, we are so grateful for him taking up his spare time to help us and all the effort he put in to helping Cameron feel more independent and safe in his bed and also being physically more able to access the trampoline.”
