Wheelchair table
The client required a wheelchair table for a narrower than standard wheelchair.
The Challenge
A client asked me to create a wheelchair table for a narrower than standard wheelchair.
The solution
18mm connector adapted to fit wheelchair arm and take 20mm tube. 30mm reduced swivel connector fitted to tube. Table CNC’d from 18mm MR MDF. Design based on off-the shelf table that was unsuitable. Table connected to mounts with tapped 20mm tube and fixed with M8 countersunk machine screws. Non-slip rubber matting fitted to both sides of table and edge finished with 20mm edging strip.
The benefit
The client can move around her property with the table in place. The table is also easily removed to allow the client to get in and out of the wheelchair.
